May 9, 2023 — Ujima Fund Management Team is excited to announce that two new investment opportunities are now open for voting by its esteemed Voting Members.
With Ujima's last vote achieving quorum in record time, the team is thrilled to continue to witness its Voting Members take control of development in our communities, invest in more businesses, and demonstrate their trust in our people. This marks a big step forward for participatory democracy in Boston. From now until May 23, members have the opportunity to vote on the Ujima Fund's 6th and 7th investment opportunities: Cupcake Therapy and The Pearl.
Cupcake Therapy is a tree nut-free and peanut-free cupcakery that bakes made-to-order cupcakes. They use premium ingredients, organic when possible, and many of their cupcakes can be made dairy-free/vegan.
The Pearl is a contemporary neighborhood bar and seafood eatery that offers an upscale casual dining experience. The concept blends city sophistication with southern hospitality to create destinations for food as well as for atmosphere.
Ujima Voting Members will consider a proposal of $210,000 for Cupcake Therapy for a duration of 5 years at 4% interest.
