The Boston Ujima Project Inc. is excited to re-introduce Dave Madan as our 2026-28 Fund Real Estate Fellow.
Madan is a small-scale housing developer and the founder of several economic opportunity and land access organizations. He is the founder and executive director of The Builder Coalition and a partner at Boston Investments.
Madan, who grew up in Cambridge, said he founded the coalition group after attending local real estate industry events. He noticed how few people of color were typically in the room and how much demand there was for making connections and sharing insight. The coalition works to diversify the state’s commercial real estate industry.
He is also a board member of the Urban Land Institute-New England and a member of the CHAPA Affordable Housing Policy Leadership Council; a group of leaders in the affordable housing and community development fields. He additionally serves as the vice chair of the board of trustees of the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC), an international human rights nonprofit based in Cambridge.
Madan began his journey with Ujima as a voting member in 2018, later becoming a Community Real Estate Fellow. Throughout his fellowship he has contributed to the development of Ujima’s forthcoming real estate fund, and Home School, a learning space focused on land and real estate finance and co-designing our collective real estate fund.
Join us in congratulating Dave!
