Voting Members to Cast Ballot for Boston While Black, and Boston Neighborhood Community Land Trust
We are pleased to share the Ujima Fund’s next opportunities for investment: Boston While Black and Boston Neighborhood Community Land Trust.
Beginning October 27, Ujima members will have the opportunity to vote on two proposed investments: Boston While Black and the Boston Neighborhood Community Land Trust (BNCLT).

Boston While Black (BWB) is a dynamic network of professionals, creatives, community and business leaders, and some of the city’s largest employers—all united by a shared vision: where everyone can find connection, grow their network, explore what the city has to offer, and have fun doing it. The Ujima Fund Management Team has proposed an equity investment of $300,000 for a duration of 5 years in Boston While Black.

Boston Neighborhood Community Land Trust (BNCLT) works to combat displacement and racial injustice by creating permanently affordable, community-controlled housing in the Boston area, with a specific geographic focus on Roxbury, Dorchester, and Mattapan. In 2025, Voting Members approved a $300,000 investment in 355 Park St, an affordable homeownership development. Now, the Ujima Fund Management team proposes a $150,000 follow-on investment over 10 years at 5% interest in BNCLT’s new semi-permanent loan fund
Voting on these investment proposals will open on October 27, 2026. Voting members will receive detailed information about each proposed investment, along with instructions on how to cast their votes, via email. Voting on the Boston While Black and BNCLT investments will close three weeks after the start of voting on November 17, 2026.
