Boston Ujima Project Inc. Announces New Member Arts Committee

ree

The Boston Ujima Project, Inc. is proud to announce the creation of our Member Arts Committee, a new community-led body within the Ujima General Assembly. This committee serves as a critical space for feedback and collective decision-making, ensuring that Ujima’s arts and cultural organizing priorities remain firmly aligned with our values.

By drawing on the leadership and imagination of Ujima members, the committee embodies our commitment to doing liberatory cultural work together. Members collaborate to review and guide the distribution of resources to artists and cultural workers, shape the growth of Ujima’s arts programming, and amplify our cultural initiatives within the broader community.

The Member Arts Committee reflects Ujima’s belief that cultural work is inseparable from economic and political transformation. As part of the General Assembly, it provides a platform for members to help steward our collective vision, ensuring that our arts programming is responsive, generative, and deeply rooted in the principles of solidarity and mutual responsibility.

We are honored to introduce the 2025–26 Member Arts Committee members: Ayana Mack, Camila Bohan Insaurralde, Sun Brown, Camila De La Vega Maldonado, Rayven Heath, Bosede Opetubo, Rebecca O. Thompson, Diva Williams, and HAAWWS.
