Boston, MA — From today until February 10th, 2026, Ujima voting members have the opportunity to review a proposed follow-on investment in Comfort Kitchen, and its two new businesses: Ama at the Atlas and Foxglove Terrace. The Ujima Fund Management Team is proposing an investment of $53,000 in Comfort Kitchen and $300,000 in Ama at the Atlas and Foxglove Terrace over three years.
This proposed investment represents an important milestone for the Ujima Fund. Follow-on investments allow businesses already rooted in Ujima’s ecosystem to grow sustainably and extend their vision without compromising their values. Supporting Comfort Kitchen’s continued growth, alongside the launch of Ama at the Atlas and Foxglove Terrace, demonstrates the Ujima Fund’s commitment to long-term partnership, shared success, and community-centered economic development.

Comfort Kitchen is a Dorchester-based café and restaurant that presents ingredients and flavors of the global majority in an intimate, lively setting. Since opening in Upham’s Corner in 2023, Comfort Kitchen has become a beloved neighborhood space. The restaurant joined Ujima’s Good Business Alliance shortly before opening and has quickly built a strong reputation locally and nationally, with features in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Eater, and other outlets. They have also received a Best New Restaurant nomination from the James Beard Foundation.
Ama at the Atlas is a new 180-seat, full-service restaurant located at the Atlas Hotel in Allston. Designed as a destination dining experience, Ama builds on the same values of hospitality, flavor, and cultural connection, while operating at a larger scale. Opening alongside Ama, Foxglove Terrace—slated to open in April at the Atlas Hotel—will be a rooftop bar serving craft cocktails and small plates, offering an additional gathering space that expands the group’s footprint and reach.
