Join us in welcoming The BIG We as the sixth member of Ujima's Translocal Membership Program!

The BIG We partners with communities to leverage cultural assets and build economic, political, and narrative power. Their work combines high-impact storytelling, creative placemaking, and investments in land development and entrepreneurship, all through the lens of culture.

The BIG We is a team of creative, hopeful risk-takers reimagining how inspiration leads to transformation. Their approach is grounded in the belief that art, culture, and creativity are powerful tools to examine and reshape the values, beliefs, and practices that define communal life. They hold that cultural shifts are among the most direct and effective pathways to building communities capable of transforming and sustaining themselves into the future.

By aligning creativity with strategy, The BIG We boldly shapes narratives that impact generations. Their North Star is Beloved Community — a reimagined world where everyone has access to safety, joy, love, and abundance.

The Ujima Translocal Membership is an action-oriented initiative to support peers outside of Boston in getting closer to creating economic democracy ecosystems where they are. Ujima's Translocal Membership is comprised of five components: partnership on Ujima's Quarterly Office Hours, joint fundraising, private organizational 1-on-1 support, whole team check-ins, and ecosystems exchanges. Membership in the Translocal Program is by invitation only.
